Unlike many online stores we do not amortise our shipping rates into our product prices. Instead we only charge you the amount it costs us to send the parcel to you.
On our site the shipping rates are based on the standard Australia Post satchel rates, this is what it costs us to send to anywhere in Australia (including rural areas and PO Boxes) from Melbourne where we are based. Australia post has standard weight satchels, 500g, 3kg and 5kg. and different prices accordingly, also we are only small so do not yet qualify for discount postage rates from Australia Post (though we are working on that).
To some destinations however we can use a courier, who are cheaper than Australia Post, to send your parcel, whenever this is possible we do so and then refund to you, within 24hrs of your order, the difference between the Australia Post rate and the courier rate. It gets a bit tricky because the courier pricing is based on weight sizes of 500g, 2kg, 5kg, 10kg, 25kg.
How to minimise your shipping?
If you are in a rural area or want to use a PO Box then Australia Post is your only option, so try to send as much as you can up to the weight limit, (3kg or 5kg) this way the shipping is spread across multiple products and you get more value.
If you live in a capital or major Australian city we will be able to use our courier, likewise try to send as much as you can up to the weight limit (2kg, 5kg or 10Kg), this way the shipping is spread across multiple products and you get more value.
If in doubt send us a contact form with your suburb and postcode and we will let you know what it will cost?
